Serena in Detroit

model in abandoned buildings detroit

I gave Serena a lift from Austin to Detroit. Lift is perhaps the wrong word. Adventuring’s a better fit. Love these!

Awe, Olivia! These shots are soo* beautiful and telling! I was so happy you decided to tour, however quickly, through Detroit- there really are absolutely revolutionary things there for those very particular people with eyes for raw or non-contemporary beauty- the character and life you carry in your photographs seems incomparable and the way you that capture your surroundings is just uncannily soulful- I really anticipate seeing your work show up in more places, and I always enjoy seeing what you come up with next- had lots of spontaneity and fun on our wayward trip back from the Southwest- Beauty in all that you do-

with love, Serena Antoinette

You beautiful person! Thank you for the kind words. I adore your gentle spirit, and I hope our paths cross again. All the warmest, brightest and best! Olivia

SXSW Music Festival (Austin)

olivia_brown_photographer_TTD_sneakp-015

SXSW, for the few who don’t know, is a massive festival of largely indie music in Austin Texas. Beer, dirt, tats, shows, road-weary musicians … all these things get tangled together under the hot Austin sun for a week of constant music. The house I’m staying at here is two doors down from a favorite...
