Olivia! We love your wedding photography and your candid photojournalistic style. we have a few questions for you.
Q: We don’t see any family/group shots on your site? What’s up with that? Do you do this type of photography too?
A: YES! In additional to more artistic candid photography coverage, I also take more standard family group shots and wedding party photo shots.
Q: “We’re getting married overseas!” Can you shoot our destination wedding?
A; Absolutely. I shoot weddings all over the world. I adore shooting destination weddings, and look forward to talking to you about yours.
Q: What happens if you’re sick?
A: I’ve never, in over 100 weddings, had to cancel for illness. However, luckily, I know lots of great local photographers with a similar style who have worked for me before, should something utterly disatrous happen (like a death in my family or two broken legs!) I’ve shot with colds, with flus etc, with a pulled back – basically, there’s nothing that coffee and aspirin can’t handle :)
Q: What about your equipment? If your camera breaks, what happens?
A: I shoot with 2 cameras, (I have two Nikon D700 bodies), an extra on hand just in case, 3 flashes, and about 6 lenses, both prime lenses and zoom lenses. Nothing’s gone wrong so far, but if something breaks, there’s lots of back-up on hand.
Q: How long in advance should we book you as our wedding photographer?
A: I book up about a year in advance, and I do book fully. Get in touch early if you’re interested!
Q: Do you offer any discounts?
A: If you’ve chosen a profession of caring and service to your community (ie: working for an NGO, or are a home-care worker, daycare worker, group-home worker, etc), I have the utmost respect for you. This kind of work is often gruelling and underpaid, and to say “thanks for giving back,” I’m happy to offer a discount on my services. I do also offer some discounts for “off-season” weddings, occurring from Nov-March.
Q: How do we book you?
A: I’ve got a non-scary contract for you to sign, and you’ll need to pay me a $700 deposit. And then I’m all yours for your wedding day!
